01 / EUROPEAN CO-LOCATION

For a major Scandinavian financial organisation we recently deployed a high-performance trading network in key financial co-location sites in Europe, so as to optimise connectivity to trading venues and providers. The project was carried from initial proposal, business case and budgeting, all the way through to the build and migration processes.

The project achieved major wins, such as reducing time-to-market, lower latency, improved trade fill rates, drastically augmented capacity and better network visibility and operations. A number of the problems the business used to face were solved, all while reducing costs.

02 / BUSINESS FLOW MONITORING

Our client knew that unacceptable latency was occurring in their trading system, but they did not know where. We helped by deploying probes and instrumentation across the network in numerous touch-points. After installing the business flow monitoring system, we applied a number of "use cases" in response to requests from the trading desks, granting them visibility throughout the price formation, client trading and hedging processes. This enabled the client to see where attention was required, allowing them to make substantial speed gains which in turn helped their bottom line.

03 / NETWORK PERFORMANCE OPTIMISATION

Our client's traders were hampered by interruptions to and the slowness of their trading applications. By comprehensively analysing network configuration and topology, and performing detailed analysis of the trading applications running on top of it, we were able to recommend and deploy numerous technologies to improve the situation. Now outages can occur in the network and the traders do not even notice.

Trading applications, with a "bursty" traffic profile, have particular needs - consistent and optimum latency between markets not least of all. With strong relationships with telecommunications providers, we are well positioned to help firms deploy the links that meet their needs for both performance and cost effectiveness.
